About This Journal
The Florida Association of Teacher Educators Journal is a scholarly journal published by the Florida unit of the Association of Teacher Educators (ATE). The Journal aims to stimulate discussion and reflection centered on teacher education at all levels. The Journal publishes original theoretical, conceptual, and research articles, as well as brief reports that stimulate debate and contribute to the knowledge of teacher education. The Journal intends to be the premier outlet for authors to submit teacher education research in the state of Florida. However, potential authors do not need to be based in Florida and research does not need to be conducted in Florida for manuscripts to be considered for publication. The journal publishes articles in a digital format and open access online, which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or institution. Users are allowed to read, download, print, or link to the full texts of the articles, without asking prior permission from FATE Journal. Please see the policies and procedures for a complete explanation of copyright and permissions.
Aims & Scope
The objective of the The Florida Association of Teacher Educators Journal is to disseminate emerging research, commentaries, and literature related to best practices to improve teacher education. Through this peer reviewed journal, educators are provided a forum for issues related to the recruitment, preparation, retention, and ongoing support of educators in the field. Aligned with the Association of Teacher Educators, FATE defines “educator” to include classroom teachers, administrators, counselors, support staff, teacher educators, related service personnel, instructional coaches, and those who educate our students outside of school settings.
The FATE Journal is interested in articles that reflect current needs in the field of teacher education, stimulate discourse, and engage perspectives of the diverse communities we serve across educational communities in teacher preparation.
Who Can Submit?
Anyone may submit an original article to be considered for publication in Florida Association of Teacher Educators Journal provided he or she owns the copyright to the work being submitted or is authorized by the copyright owner or owners to submit the article. Author(s) are the initial owners of the copyrights to their works (an exception in the non-academic world to this might exist if the authors have, as a condition of employment, agreed to transfer copyright to their employer).
